मंगलबारको पुजा – ब्रत: – Tuesdays are the days of Lord Ganesh: the deity of perfection and success. Fasting is one of the means to please any deity including Lord Ganesh. So, devotees take a daylong fasting to please Lord Ganesh on Tuesdays. Once, Lord Ganesh is pleased then their wishes are fulfilled.

Devotees take shower in the morning. Then, they prepare for making offerings to the deity in the evening. Favorites of Lord Ganesh are reddish, laddo, and green grass called ‘dubo’. Devotees end the fasting after making offerings to the deity.

Taking regular fasting on Tuesdays will remove any obstacles in the way to success in businesses of any kind. It also helps keep the devotees healthy. Anyone of the spouses may take the fasting for another. Wives often take the fasting on Tuesdays for the success of their husbands.
